Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) remains a public health problem in Semarang City. The effectiveness of community-based surveillance is strongly influenced by cadres' ability to record and report larval monitoring results quickly and accurately. This community service program aimed to improve cadres' knowledge and skills in using the Tunggal Dara Application for dengue reporting and monitoring in Gedawang Village, Banyumanik District, Semarang City. The activity was conducted on 15 July 2026 and targeted approximately 40 participants, comprising Village Health Forum administrators, Family Welfare Empowerment representatives from neighborhood units 01-10, larval monitoring cadres from neighborhood units 01-10, and Gedawang Village officers. The stages included needs identification, preparation of training materials and a practical module, interactive lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, application simulations, discussions, and evaluation using pretest-posttest instruments and skill observation sheets. The materials covered application introduction, installation, account management, entry of larval inspection results, reporting, and dashboard utilization. Participants were able to take part in the application simulation and, based on partner testimonials, gained a better understanding of digital recording, reporting, and monitoring. The program also produced an electronic mass-media publication, activity and testimonial videos, and a mentoring poster. Differences in digital literacy and smartphone specifications, as well as unstable internet connections, were addressed through individual assistance, step-by-step guidance, and alternative networks. This mentoring program strengthened cadres' capacity to support digital dengue surveillance. Quantitative analysis of pretest-posttest results and periodic monitoring of actual application use remain necessary to evaluate the sustainability of the program's impact.
